250 g.m paneer/Indian cottage cheese

3 finely chopped medium sized onions

2 medium sized tomatoes

9 to 10 garlic

1 tablespoon chopped ginger

2 tablespoon cumin seeds

1/2 tablespoon red chilli powder

1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder

1 tablespoon coriander powder

3 tablespoon fresh cream

3 tablespoon butter

1 tablespoon salt

1 bay leaf

Start by chopping the paneer into long pieces.

Take a mixer grinder and make a puree of tomato,ginger, garlic and cumin seeds.As the puree is ready heat a pan on the gas.Add butter.let it be hot and then put the bay leaf and chopped onion.Cook in medium flame until the onions turn soft golden.Bay leaf is very flavorful and blends really well with spicey curry.

Now put the tomato puree.Mix well.Add the chilli powder,turmeric powder and coriander powder.Mux well and cook in low to medium flame until the puree starts releasing butter.

Gravy to make Punjabi paneer

It simply means the water in the puree dries up a bit.Now add the Cream.Stir well again.Add 1/2 cup water and wait until the mixture comes to boiling point.Then add the salt and stir well.

Put all the paneer pieces one by one.And cook for another 3 to 4 minutes in low to medium flame and the delicious Punjabi paneer is ready and it tastes too delicious.
