Welcome again to my food recipes blog😊Do you also like the home-cooked delicious Indian food and dishes? They are just yummy..Indian food and dishes are uncountable in varieties and the best thing is,the importance of traditional foods and dishes are becoming significant with changing times..
Today I have brought a very famous and delicious paratha/tortilla recipe known as methi paratha..Methi refers to green fenugreek leaves which is used in many other dishes.Delicious curries are being prepared using fenugreek leaves..I have already put a recipe on aloo methi, which is a very simple yet delicious curry made using fenugreek leaves and potatoes..
Methi paratha is a simple recipe and a delicious twist to the very regular roti or tortilla we eat..So if you love to try different varieties of parathas/roti/tortilla, then don’t forget to try on this yum..This is one of the most delicious recipe and also simple enough to make..So let’s begin by listing the ingredients to make methi paratha-
2 cups wheat flour
1 cup gram flour/besan
2 bunches finely chopped fenugreek leaves
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
4 tablespoon oil
Start the process of making methi paratha by making a dough..take a container and add wheat flour, gram flour, salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder and cumin seeds..dry mix all the ingredients well..then add the oil as mentioned and chopped fenugreek leaves/methi patta..make sure to wash off the methi fenugreek leaves well and thereby sqeezing all the water away before putting it to the dough mixture..Now add water slowly by mixing the ingredients at the same time to make a dough..the dough should be as the regular tortilla dough but I would say to keep the dough little tighter to let the ingredients combine with each other well..
Keep the dough moist for 15 minutes using a moist cotton cloth..after that knead it really well..if it feels a bit sticky, add some more oil on palm for an easy kneading. Now heat a tortilla pan on the gas in medium flame..Make regular size of tortilla balls.
Roll the balls by dusting dry wheatflour just like we do while making normal roti/tortilla..grease your pan a bit with oil before putting it on the pan..spread oil by flipping the methi paratha to roast well both the sides..atleast 1/2 table spoon required for a normal roasting of the parathas..make sure to roast it in medium flame for an even texture without overroasting.
And now the delicious mathi paratha is all ready..grab this yum with curd or sauce..also you can have it solely by rolling it..this is soo good..👍👍
