Ingredients
250 g.m paneer
3/4 cup melted butter
3 chopped onions
1 chopped tomato
1 table spoon cumin seeds
6 to 7 black pepper balls/gol mirch (optional)
10 peeled garlics
1 tablespoon chopped ginger
1 bay leaf
1/2 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon chilli powder
1 teaspoon kashmiri lal Mirch
1 table spoon kasturi methi
Salt to taste
(All of these are basic Indian spices which are easily available at the groceries)
Dried red chilli if you need more spice/optional
So this is a rough picture of spices to make a gravy for the delicious paneer butter masala..Start by making a gravy using the chopped onions, tomato, garlics, ginger, black pepper balls and dried red chilli if you are using..Make sure to not grind bay leaf..As the the gravy is all ready now..Make 1 inches square cubes of the paneer..You can roast it using a little butter in a pan but I have not roasted it because I like the paneer more soft to bite..So now take a pan..let the pan be hot..add the butter, with for some seconds, then put the bay leaf into it, bay leaf has a very mild flavor which gives some of these special curries a very authentic taste..now add the gravy we made into the butter..mix well..Switch the flame to medium for the gravy to be cooked up well..after 2 to 3 minutes of cooking the gravy, add the turmeric powder and chilli powder and kashmiri lal mirch. Keep up the stirring process until all the flavors come out well..you will see the butter coming on top of the spices eventually, which is a sign that the gravy is ready..
I have added some chopped parsley and it is completely optional to use..Now as the gravy is almost ready, remove the bay leaf to avoid any access flavor..Now add 1 cup water and salt..mix well..let it start to boil and then add the paneer cubes into it..mix well..Cook for 3 minutes in low flame to let the paneer absorb the spices and add some more butter on top if you like any extra..and now the extremely delicious paneer butter masala is all ready..combine it with plain Fulka/tortilla, Naan or any of your favorite Flatbread..👍👍dont forget to try this recipe and share with your friends and family.
