How to make aloo methi/aloo methi curry recipe
Hello world!!Welcome back to the home-cooked yum yums..The picture says it all about today’s recipe..Its aloo methi!!Before going to the cooking process , let’s dig a bit on this simple yet very tasty curry..Aloo which is potatoes and methi patta is known as green fenugreek leaves.As we all know During winters fresh leafy vegetables are everywhere in the veggies market and also are full of nutrients, vitamins and a great source of iron ..In my home fresh fenugreek leaves are cooked so many times during cold ,in curry form as well as using it in roties and parathas..

Today’s recipe is all about aloo methi, which is a very delicious combination and tastes too good..This delicious Indian curry is cooked in different ways like some cook it in a more simple ways and some in a spicey way..The recipe I have brought is all inspired by my mother, and she cooks it soo tasty..The texture of this curry is neither too dry nor too watery because it is cooked in semi thick manner..So let’s start making aloo methi..

Ingredients
3 bunches of chopped methi/green fenugreek leaves
4 to 5 chopped boiled potatoes
2 medium sized chopped onions
1 chopped tomato
5 to 6 garlics
1 table spoon small chopped ginger
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/3 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon mustard seeds
4 table spoon mustard oil/cooking oil
1 and 1/2 teaspoon salt/according to your taste
Method
To cook aloo methi simply make a gravy out of chopped onions, tomato,garlics and ginger..put it all in a mixture grinder jar and make a thick paste .Now put a pan on high flame..add oil..let the oil be hot..then add the mustard seeds..let it pop..as it starts to pop..pour the gravy mixture into it..mix well..now cook in medium flame by stirring the gravy time to time..after 2 to 3 minutes, add the chilli powder and turmeric powder..mix well and cook again for 1 minute..now add 1 and 1/2 cup of water…mix well..then add the chopped fenugreek leaves into it..as soon as it starts to boil…add the chopped boiled potatoes and salt ..mix well..if the mixture looks to thick, you can add 1/2 cup more water..now lower the flame and boil for 5 to 7 minutes for the leaves to be cooked up well as well as for the potatoes to absorb the spices well.
Now you can tatse the yum and add salt if required..this is really delicious and yummy guys..do try..
