How to make thepla/Indian Flatbread recipe/Gujrati thepla recipe

Thepla is a soft Indian Flatbread/paratha made using a mixture of flours and spices..It is a Gujrati cuisine and one of the most amazing variety in Flatbreads.Thepla is mainly a breakfast recipe and is often combined with curd or pickles..Also you can have this with your favorite chutney..

Making of thepla is an easy process.We are often curious about the varieties in curries or in desserts and many more..but there are so many varieties available in Flatbread too..each one of them has its own different taste and flavor..

Thepla is one of the mostly made paratha/Flatbread in my family..And we all love the taste and texture..So let’s start making thepla-





2 cups wheat flour

1 cup gram flour

1 tea spoon chilli powder

1 table spoon cumin seeds

1 table spoon salt

3 table spoon oil


Dry mix all the ingredients like wheat flour,gram flour,chilli powder,cumin seeds ,salt and oil..Now slowly add water to make a soft dough..knead well for 5 minutes..keep it aside for 10 to 15 minutes for softer thepla/Flatbread..Knead well again after 10 minutes..

Put a flat pan/tawa on the gas..let it be hot..Now make regular size of tortilla balls and than roll it..put it on the pan and than flip it, grease with oil all over..flip it again and then grease again with oil..cook in medium flame both the sides by flipping time to time for a perfect golden dotted delicious tgepla.
