Crispy and delicious Gujrat fafda

This is one of the most simple and delicious fafda recipe and the taste and texture is amazing.

hello everyone!!welcome back to the hub of delicious home-cooked delicacies, full of taste and flavor including some food experiments..the recipe I have brought today is all about a snack item known as fafda..It is one of the most famous Gujrati cuisine with a flavorful taste and crispy texture..When I first tasted fafda, we brought it from the market and I used to wonder how difficult it must be but its actually not that difficult, the recipe is simple and the taste is just amazing..

When it comes to snack , we are choosy enough and in India some of the most famous crispy snack sold everywhere are bhujiya, sev, gathiya,fafda, mixture and many more and no doubt they are super delicious..fafda is a very authentic snack item originally from Gujrat but has taken over many other snack stores and steet food corners over the course of time..It is made using gramflour and some very easily available spices in kitchen by preparing a dough and then rolling it..The whole tricky part lies in rolling the fafda because it should neither too thick nor too thin..

The demand for these delicious food and snacks increases by a great extent during the festive seasons when the joy of having good increases..During the season of dussehra, there is a high demand of fafda and other snack items..So this time try on this delicious Gujrati fafda and you are not going to regret the taste.Making a good fafda needs the a right kind of dough and then rolling it correctly.

The taste of fafda comes out really well when its warm..the flavors come out nicely and you can get the taste and flavors well.It is often ckmbined with chutney ans fried green chilli.But I also like it with my tea.So let’s start making this yumm.

Ingredients

2 cups besan/gram flour

(The cup size I have used is standard tea cup)

1 and 1/2 tea spoon salt

1/3 tea spoon red chilli powder

2 pinches asafoetida/hing

2 pinches black pepper powder

2 table spoon oil

1/4 tea spoon baking soda

1 and 1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ajwain/caraway seeds

Method

Take a flour kneading container or parat..Add gram flour, chilli powder, black pepper powder, asafoetida, caraway seeds, baking soda, salt and oil according to the ratio mentioned above.Mix all the ingredients well using hands.

Now slowly add water to make a tight dough..Making a tight dough is really important to make the perfect crispy Fasda.. don’t rush, just slowly add water..knead well while preparing the dough.

NOTE-While making a dough always keep in mind to knead well everytime you add water to get the perfect desired texture.It also let’s you know easily if more water is needed.

The perfect fafda dough is ready.

Now take a moist and clean cotton cloth to cover it up for 12 to 15 minutes to let it settle well.

Again after 12 minutes knead the dough well again..if you feel it sticky on your hands , just add 1 teaspoon more oil for a good knead.

Now make small 1 inch balls out of it..Put a frying pan or kadhai on the gas to heat the oil..add oil for deep frying.keep the temperature to medium flame..Now roll each balls on the wooden tortilla roller using your palm by putting a gentle pressure..This is the most tricky part of making fafda but once you get the trick its easy enough…roll it into long oval shapes just like this.

Now remove it using a knife from the roller and put it inside the oil gently to deep fry.you can add up to 3 to 4 at once..deep fry in low to medium flame until it turns light golden..also you can roll it like this.👇👇

As soon as it turns light brown remove it to a oil paper to absorb any access oil..Though it feels completely dry on the top, oil paper is not really necessary..

And now the most crispy and delicious fafda is ready, grab this crisp and don’t forget to share with your friends and family.
